POSITION: SCRUB TECHNICIAN

STATUS: PART-TIME

EXPERIENCE: GRADUATE OF AN ACCREDITED SCHOOL OF SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY OR TX LVN LICENSE.  CERTIFIED IN SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY PREFERRED (CST OR CORT),  mINIMUM 1 YEAR EXPERIENCE

POSITION: Laboratory Manager
STATUS: Full Time – 40 hours Exempt

EDUCATION:

  • BS Degree from an accredited University or College
  • Must meet CLIA requirements for General Supervisor or Higher

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Current technologist/technician certification with a national certifying agency
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a supervisor in a high complexity laboratory.

SKILLS/DUTIES: 

  • Highly motivated team oriented lab manager manages daily laboratory operations for all areas.
  • Manages all laboratory requirements for safety and infection control, certification and compliance, document control and recruitment.
  • Ensures that the laboratory provides high quality, effective and responsive services to its customers.
  • Responsible for coordinating the planning, organization, direction, and integration of the department to include Administrate, Financial, Technical and Educational aspects of operations under the Supervision of the Hospital Administration and Laboratory Medical Director.

POSITION: Lab Assistant

STATUS: PRN

EXPERIENCE: Two years general hospital lab experience preferred

SKILLS/DUTIES: 

  • Ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the competency validation procedures
  • Patient-centered/patient valued behavior
  • Compliance with hospital environment of care and infection control
  • A wide range of clerical duties including billing, obtaining ABNS, communicating with physicians and office personnel, typing, referring and receiving specimens, filing, faxing and copying

POSITION: Paramedic

STATUS: Full-Time

EDUCATION: 

  • Current EMT - paramedic certification or license

  • 2 years' experience in an EMS setting - preferred
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification
  • current or obtainable within 6 months of employment: ACLS certification

SKILLS/DUTIES: 

  • Initiates patient treatment and care utilizing initial protocol treatment based on patient condition. 
  • Conducts basic advanced life support skills
  • Responsible for safety decisions involving the patient and emergency vehicle
  • Drives emergency vehicle to and from calls to transport patients in a safe and prudent manner using the most efficient route to ensure the quickest response times
  • Assist in carrying patients by stretcher or other devices to the emergency vehicle and secure them inside the vehicle choosing the safest means of transport
  • Observes and keeps records regarding symptoms of patients
  • Communicates information to other members of the healthcare profession, patients, family members, and other responders as necessary per HIPAA standards
  • Complies with all current policies and procedures
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in determining the appropriate emergency medical treatment of a patient or a group of patients according to existing protocols and standards
  • Knowledge of the geography of operating area and emergency medical procedures and techniques

POSITION: PRN Universal Worker

LOCATION:  The Fountains Assisted Living Facility

STATUS: PRN

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE: Prefer at least one year of experience working with the elderly in a residential setting

SKILLS/DUTIES:

  • Good verbal and writing communication skills. 
  • Ability to assist the resident care attendants, office assistant and housekeeping teams as needed. 
  • Self-starter who can be flexible with job duties as needed, ability to prioritize based on the needs of the residents and facility.

POSITION: General Supervisor/Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician

STATUS: PRN

EXPERIENCE: Five years general hospital lab experience preferred; Cerner EHR, a plus

EDUCATION: Degree in medical laboratory technology or with equivalent education.

SKILLS/DUTIES:

  • Properly collect, process and store specimens; evaluate specimen acceptability for testing
  • Technical ability to perform all laboratory tests according to CLIA standards, including blood bank, microbiology
  • Ability to problem-solve for procedural and instrument troubleshooting, method evaluation; establish and/or maintenance of quality assurance and safety programs
  • Compare test results to pre-established criteria and make decisions regarding the validity of test results
  • Demonstrate management and supervisory skills
  • Commitment to providing the highest quality of health care demonstrated by upholding sweeny community hospital and the organization's goals
  • Perpetuate quality health care in the laboratory by supporting and upholding annual departmental metrics

POSITION: RN-ER

STATUS: Shift (7 pm - 7 am)

EDUCATION: RN licensed with Texas state board of nursing examiners (BNE). ACLS, TNCC, and CPR required

EXPERIENCE: Two or more years of nursing.  ER experience needed

SIGN ON BONUS: $2000 Per Eligibility

SKILLS/DUTIES:

  •  Ability to work in a high-stress ER environment. 
  • Adheres to the standards of nursing care and the policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department. 
  • Provides care to the pediatric, adolescent, young adult, adult and geriatric patient, and documents the care given. 
  • Assesses all patients and gives care as indicated. 
  • Notifies physician and documents orders. 
  • Assists physicians with inpatient treatment and procedures. 
  • Accurately administers medications, starts iv's and monitors iv fluids for the correct rate. 
  • Performs treatments. 
  • Continuously reviews and stays current with meds used in all care units. 
  • Establishes priority of care, quickly identifies what life-sustaining measures are indicated and identifies any injuries or problems. 
  • Orders supplies to ensure proper amount are on hand at all times. 
  • Restocks supplies when units close. 
  • Assists with developing, reviewing and revising all policies and procedures. 
  • Makes sure all staff are oriented. 
  • Maintains a safe and attractive environment for patients, with special consideration of cleanliness, ventilation, and lighting. 
  • Respects the rights of patients, including confidentiality, security, and privacy.
