Education: High School diploma or GED required, Valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable record, Must obtain and maintain BLS (Basic Life Support), CPR and AED training

Skills/Duties:

  • At least one year of experience working with the elderly in a residential setting
  • Passion for working with seniors
  • Able to provide hands on assistance with daily care needs including personal needs, grooming, hygiene, housekeeping, laundering, social interactions and meals

Position: Medical Assistant - West Columbia RHC

Status: Full-Time

Education: Medical Assistant Certificate, BCLS certified from the American Heart Association

Experience: 2 years' medical office experience

Skills/Duties:

  • Collect blood and prepare laboratory specimen and/or perform basic point of care laboratory tests as well as ordering needed laboratory supplies
  • Obtain and record vital signs
  • Ensure that clinic flow is maintained
  • Prepare and administer vaccines according to schedule and orders
  • Facilitate communication between the Patients, the Office staff and Provider

Position: AEMT/EMT

Status: PRN

Education: Current Texas DSHS AEMT Certification

                      Current American Heart Association BLS Provider Required

                      Current Texas DPS Drivers License (Class C)

                      Incident Management Systems ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800

Skills/Duties:

  • Initiates patient treatment and care utilizing initial protocol treatment based on patient condition.  Conducts basic and advanced life support skills.
  • Responsible for safety decisions involving the patient and emergency vehicle
  • Drives emergency vehicle to and from calls to transport patients in a safe and prudent manner using the most efficient route to ensure the quickest response times.
  • Assist in carrying patients by stretcher or other device to emergency vehicle and secure patient inside the vehicle choosing the safest means of transport.
  • Observes and keeps records regarding symptoms of patients.
  • Communicates information to other members of the healthcare profession, patients, family members, and other responders as necessary per HIPPA standards.
  • Complies with all current policies and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement in determining the appropriate emergency medical treatment of a patient or group of patients according to existing protocols and standards.
  • Knowledge of geography of the operating area and emergency medical procedures and techniques.

Position: RN - Emergency Department

Status: Full-Time, Night Shifts available

Experience: RN licensed with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners (BNE), ACLS, TNCC and CPR required

Sign-On Bonus: $3000 per eligibility

Skills/Duties:

  • Two or more years nursing.
  • ER experience needed.
  • Ability to work in a high stress ER environment.
  • Adheres to the standards of nursing care and the policies and procedures of the hospital and nursing department.
  • Provides care to pediatric, adolescent, young adult, adult and geriatric patients, and documents care given.
  • Assess all patients and gives care as indicated.
  • Notifies physician and documents orders.
  • Assists physicians in patient treatment and procedures.
  • Accurately administers medications, starts IVs and monitors IV fluids for correct rate.
  • Continuously reviews and stays current with meds used in all care units.
  • Establishes priority care, quickly identifies what life sustaining measures are indicated and identifies any injuries or problems.
  • Order supplies to ensure proper amounts are on hand at all times.
  • Restocks supplies when units close.
  • Assists with developing, reviewing and revising all policies and procedures
  • Makes sure all staff are orientated.

Position: Facilities Manager
Status: Full-Time
Experience/Education: BS Degree or Associate Degree with Technical Training.

Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience and responsibility in a Maintenance Field.

2 years supervisory position directing a maintenance staff with facilities management experience
Skills/Duties: 

  • Provides overall supervision and management of all Sweeny Community Hospital facilities and its Maintenance Department including involvement with replacement hospital

  • Plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including cost estimates to align with the Hospital finance metrics.

  • Initiates planned maintenance programs for a variety of office equipment

  • Manages preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC and office equipment

  • Manages preventive testing and inspection of fire alarm systems and suppression systems

  • Provides technical expertise in all areas of compliance with AHCA, Joint Commission, CMS and other applicable federal and state government regulators

  • Participates in pre-construction and infection control risk assessment review process and ensures completion of any necessary action plans

  • Acts as an active member of the Environment of Care committee and completes any assigned tasks and/or opportunities

Position: LVN - Inpatient

Status: PRN

Experience:​  Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.  Texas State Board of Nursing LVN License.  Current BLS Certification.

Skills/Duties:

  • Demonstrate appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient's care, as evidenced by client/staff observation and respond appropriately.
  • Assess the patient: Collect and document the patient's current health status on history, as directed by RN.
  • Make accurate assessment of patient's status and respond appropriately.
  • Follow appropriate procedures for obtaining and returning or cleaning/disposing of equipment and supplies.
  • Adhere to administrative system/nursing service policies as evidenced by policies and procedures.
  • Comply with specific system/division/unit policies and procedures concerning safety, including all aspects of patient care in Med/Surg that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Ability to collaborate with other nurses and health team members to ensure the patients well-being as evidenced by staff/client feedback.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship within the department as well as other departments and physicians.

Position: General Supervisor/Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician

Status: PRN

Experience: Five years general hospital lab experience preferred; Cerner EHR, a plus

Education: Degree in medical laboratory technology or with equivalent education.

Skills/Duties:

  • Properly collect, process and store specimens; evaluate specimen acceptability for testing
  • Technical ability to perform all laboratory tests according to CLIA standards, including blood bank, microbiology
  • Ability to problem-solve for procedural and instrument troubleshooting, method evaluation; establish and/or maintenance of quality assurance and safety programs
  • Compare test results to pre-established criteria and make decisions regarding the validity of test results
